Our branch is run solely by volunteers and there are many ways you can help with our vital and rewarding roles. Any time you give – from as little as an hour or two a week is appreciated and will benefit the cats and kittens whilst they are in our care. If you have a skill that you think we may be able to use, do get in touch by clicking on the Contact Us tab and filling in your details, call us on 0345 371 1855 or email us on info@welwynhatfield.cats.org.uk

Temporary Emergency Foster Carers

If you have a spare room and a love of cats then we would love to hear from you! We always have more abandoned or unwanted cats and kittens than we can bring into our care. If you feel you would be able to help in this key area, please get in touch! You can make a real difference to the lives of cats and kittens in need across our area.

Long Term Foster Carers

Either in a spare room or with a purpose built single-pen cattery, all equipment is provided plus support and information, including access to training courses run by Cats Protection.

We always need more people to help on our stall when we are out and about fundraising. This often means that our fundraisers will need to be at a venue for 3 or 4 hours to help, but obviously the more people we have on our rota the less time each will need to be there! If people live in our area we can often arrange for another volunteer to give them a lift as well. The up side of helping on our stall is that you get to look round the event either before you start your stint on the stall or after. For example, at the Herts County Show, where the entrance tickets are expensive, if someone is prepared to give us 3 or 4 hours of their time we can let them have a ticket at a vastly reduced price so they can spend the rest of the day at the show enjoying themselves!

Could you spare a few hours to help us raise funds to care for the cats in our care? We now have our fundraising mascot, Hattie (take a look at our feature pages for more information). We need enthusiastic volunteers to wear the costume at our fundraising events. We do not expect people to wear this for long periods, perhaps an hour or two. Is this something that you feel you could do?

Volunteering will cost you nothing but love, care and a little spare time but will provide you with an awareness of cat welfare needs so please contact us by clicking on the Contact Us tab and filling in your details, call us on 0345 371 1855 or email us on info@welwynhatfield.cats.org.uk.
